July 31- The Film “Hairspray” & Sing-Along Opens at The Drive-In Cinema

The FLIFF Drive-In Cinema series returns to a waterside spot near Fort Lauderdale’s Pier Sixty-Six Hotel and Marina with a screening of “Hairspray/ Sing Along.” Lyrics will be shown on the screen.  Gates open at 7 p.m. for the show at 8:30 p.m. (must be parked by 8:15 p.m.). Delray Playhouse’s Playhouse Playwrights’ Project is now extending submissions for its second year of staged readings of new plays. Local playwrights (Palm Beach and Broward County residents) are asked to submit an unpublished, one-act play for consideration by the Playhouse’s play reading committee. Deadline for submissions is now extended to July 31. Auditions will be held in August, rehearsals will be held over the summer, and the performance weekend is September 12 and 13.
