April 19- Las Olas Food & Wine Festival

7:30pm to 10:30pm-Along five city blocks of Las Olas Blvd.- The largest Culinary Street Festival returns! Celebrating 28 years as Fort Lauderdale’s premiere wine and food experience. The annual festival, presented by Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, features the best of Broward’s famed restaurant line-up, with proceeds supporting the American Lung Association. Come enjoy bites from more than 40 top local restaurants and more than 200 wines from international and domestic wineries. Onsite entertainment will include live music, DJs, dancing and interactive experiences.  The famed Las Olas strip closes to vehicular traffic for the massive event, and becomes one massive street party.  Here’s where an estimated 2,000 fellow foodies and party-goers hit the street, and taste their way through unlimited samplings of food, wine, beer, and spirits – along with an array of other activities, including music, interactive games, intriguing displays, and the enjoy general festive party scene, among a few thousand of their new best friends.

The Blind Monk Restaurant and Wine Bar in West Palm Beach– a  casual bar with a wine and craft-beer focus-Ben Lubin, a former U.S. Marine, decided to venture into the hospitality business with this small spot on Evernia Street. The food menu is sparse but traditionally wine-friendly-One special each week will be featured; The eatery’s name honors Don Perignon, who was, in real life, a blind monk so an alcohol connoisseur’s menu features more than 90 wines by the glass, and 300-plus bottles on the list, representing every wine-growing region around the globe.
