SATURDAY, MAY 3- The 151st KENTUCKY DERBY

The 2025 Kentucky Derby is an event held on May 3, 2025 at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.  It has been called “The Most Exciting 2 Minutes in Sports.” Mix up a mint julep and break out your favorite “fascinator” (hat.) Watch the Kentucky Derby on NBC or USA Network. Why is this race so important? holds such a distinguished place among all sporting events, not just horse racing. It also happens to be the oldest continuously held major sporting event in America, alongside its sibling race, the Kentucky Oaks (streaming May 2 starting at 1 p.m. ET on USA Network and Peacock). The Kentucky Derby has up to 20 of the best 3-year-old thoroughbreds in horse racing, all striving to be the fastest around the 1+1⁄4 mile (10 furlongs) track, hoping to nab the hugely coveted garland of roses in the Winner’s Circle. As far as the money, last year, “the purse” for the Kentucky Derby hit an all-time high with a total of $5 million being paid out to the winning horses, and it’s the same this year. Also, the winner will receive the event’s highly sought-after gold trophy, a $3.1 million payday and possibly millions more as a stallion after retirement from racing. Also, $1 million will be awarded to the runner-up, $500,000 to third, $250,000 to fourth and $150,000 to fifth.” For all the details, CLICK HERE

May 3 and 4- The 2025 AIR DOT SHOW in Fort Lauderdale

The Air Dot Show Fort Lauderdale, the supersonic thriller once called the Fort Lauderdale Air Show is going much leaner — and meaner — for this weekend’s free spectacle over the beach.

U.S. Navy Blue Angels- with breathtaking stunts, and aircraft; The U.S. Navy Blue Angels, which last flew over Fort Lauderdale beach in 2023, will return as the headliners of the 2025 Air Dot Show Fort Lauderdale;

The number of elite aircraft on this tour has been nearly halved from 13 performers to seven, headlined by the return of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, the sextet of crowd-pleasing, yellow-blue blurs that scream across South Florida skies in their sleek F/A-18 Super Hornets. The Blue Angels will be soaring alongside the mighty F-22 Raptor stealth fighter, the NORAD F-15 Intercept, SOCOM Para-Commandos, the Florida ANG F-15 Eagles, a P-51 Mustang and the Coast Guard SAR Demo team, who will each perform on both days of the event. The event’s name change was very much intentional; The tour has been known as the Air Dot Show Tour for at least two years, and branding each stop with “Dot” is a reflection of its growth into new markets. This year, it added Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and Cocoa Beach, joining its usual stops in Orlando; Atlanta and Augusta, Georgia; Ocean City, Maryland; and Orange County, N.Y.

This year’s Air Dot Show just so happens to coincide with the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix (May 2-4) at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens and the Beachfront Grand Prix Festival, a pit stop for racing simulators, live music and speed at Fort Lauderdale’s Las Olas Oceanside Park, down the beach from Air Dot Show’s flight action.

WHAT: Air Dot Show Fort Lauderdale

WHEN: 11:45 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, May 3-4 (gates open 9 a.m.)

WHERE: Fort Lauderdale beach, north and south around Sunrise Boulevard

COST: Free to watch; $26-$599 for preferred seat packages

INFORMATION: 954-241-7937; Air.Show

May 3 and 4-The Formula 1 –Miami Grand Prix

The Miami Grand Prix is a Formula One Grand Prix which was held for the first time during the 2022 season, with the event taking place at the Miami International Autodrome on a ten-year contract. It includes 57 laps. Held at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens and the Beachfront Grand Prix Festival, a pit stop for racing simulators, live music and speed at Fort Lauderdale’s Las Olas Oceanside Park.   The Campus Pass grants you a three-day general admission ticket with access to Hard Rock Stadium, the fountains, the Marina, and the trackside lane between Turn 8-11. This year’s pass includes two options; a one-day pass for Sunday that starts at $350 or the recommended three-day pass that starts at $450. For all the details, CLICK HERE    or   For complete ticket prices, visit F1 Miami Grand Prix official site here.

MAY 3 to MAY 18-“MY WAY”-CELEBRATING THE MUSIC OF FRANK SINATRA AT THE WICK THEATER

Start Spreading the News! My Way: A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra Showcases His Signature Songs

From the smoky back rooms of Hoboken to the glittering lights of Las Vegas, Frank Sinatra’s songs defined an era.  To honor his incomparable musical legacy and impact on our culture, The Wick Theatre has created an entire experience around their newest show. Before each performance, step into the glitz and glamour of Rat Pack-era Vegas, then settle in for a finger-snapping, award-winning revue featuring 55 timeless classics by Sinatra nicknamed “Ol Blues Eyes” and “Chairman of the Board.”

The show delivers stunning thematic medleys of Sinatra classics grouped into subjects such as young love, cities, losers and survivors, including such hits as “Chicago”, “Fly Me To the Moon,”  “All of Me,” “New York, New York,” “High Hopes” and of course “My Way.”  With a live band led by Bobby Peaco, and featuring the immense talents of Mark Sanders, Shelley Keelor, and Elizabeth Bedley, My Way offers a fresh, powerful take on the Sinatra songbook. Helmed by Broadway’s Jeremy Benton, as performer, director and choreographer, the prodigious triple-threat will make sure everyone experiences Sinatra’s magic anew!

As a special bonus, guests are encouraged to arrive early for the 1950s Vegas Experience in The Wick’s grand lobby, including roulette and craps, cigarette girls and a bar that will make a mean Martini, Manhattan or Sinatra’s favorite – a Rusty Nail.  (You’ll just have to try it!)   It’s time to join the Rat Pack and enjoy an unforgettable night just how Sinatra would have wanted it– a few stories, a few drinks, and plenty of knockout tunes! Matinee performances at 2 pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays , Saturdays & Sundays;  evening shows at 7:30 pm. on Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays; Single and group tickets available at www.thewick.org or by calling the box office at 561-995-2333.
