April 5-First Friday Walk in Delray

First Friday Art Walk is a self-guided tour of our art galleries, studios and museums with live music around town. It is produced by the Delray Beach Downtown Development Authority to showcase our vibrant art community. The DDA provides LIVE pop-up music at select locations, lists participants on the DDA website and promotes the Art Walk through e-blasts and social media. The DDA also publishes a monthly map of Art Walk stops and distributes them to various locations to guide visitors. For more info, CLICK HERE

 

April 5- Old Town Untapped-Cultural Arts & Music Block Party

6pm to 10pm-Join us for Pompano Beach’s Arts Festival! We are excited for the series running October through May. Patrons will enjoy a night filled with live music by local bands and a local DJ, art gallery openings at Bailey Contemporary Arts Center, local art vendors and food trucks. Old Town Untapped takes place on the 1st Friday of the month from 6 – 10 pm and is FREE for all ages to attend. The event is located in the heart of Downtown Pompano Beach on NE 1 Street and N. April 5-Shakespeare Troupe Opens with “Hamlet” For a 4 Weekend-Run at its New Home in Boca Raton For a 4 Weekend-Run

Now located at: at Sol Theatre, 3333 N. Federal Hwy., Boca Raton (School Tour bookings available now) – Peter Galman, founder and president of Shakespeare Troupe, Inc. (STI), announced performances of William Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” beginning Friday, March 15, as the Shakespeare Troupe of South Florida’s inaugural production at the intimate Sol Theatre, 3333 North Federal Highway in Boca Raton.
The production is partially funded by several state, county and town grants to perform Shakespeare in schools while meeting the Troupe’s mission to train student interns to participate alongside professional actors, designers and directors. The STI production of “Hamlet” will tour schools in the region. “When I heard that Shakes Troupe could bring a free performance of Hamlet to my high schoolers, I jumped at the chance,” said André Gainey, Staff Administrator at Somerset Preparatory Academy Charter School at North Lauderdale, who has booked the Troupe for April 2nd. Shakes Troupe will do 2 school shows on April 2nd, to accommodate more than 300 students and maintain an intimacy, “said Galman, “and we’ll supply the teachers with a study guide to engage their students in preparation for the play, in accordance with the standards prescribed in the State of Florida’s CPalms.org website.” “Hamlet” will play 4 weekends at Sol Theatre, from March 15 through April 7, totaling 12 public performances. 8pm to 10pm-Centennial Fountain comes to life with lights and music in an interactive dancing fountain waterworks show. Beautiful new dancing fountain feature at 150 N. Clematis Street, West Palm Beach. Shows are Thursdays–Sundays, 8–10 p.m. with three shows per hour; The fountain has been decked out with a state-of-the-art operating system giving water the power to dance to music and 109 LED lights with 16.7 million colors. Interactive play is not allowed during special programming. Visitors must remain behind the ropes when viewing shows.
