"Beyond The Rainbow-Garland at Carnegie Hall"- At the Arts Garage in Delray and running until August 11-You'll feel like you just saw Judy Garland perform! The production begins the story on April 23, 1961, when a 38-year-old Garland performed at Carnegie Hall in what the New York Times called "the concert of the century." This is an unforgettable musical portrait of a child actor turned Hollywood star who captivated a nation with her spectacular talent and tumultuous life. It features 24 of Garland’s greatest hits, including “Get Happy,” “That’s Entertainment,” “The Trolley Song,” and of course, “Over the Rainbow.” Beyond the Rainbow tells her story, but it also tells America’s story through the turbulent years of the mid-20th Century. It’s the story and the music of an era to be cherished and savored.Judy's Carnegie Hall appearance marked a huge comeback for the star, and the live recording Judy at Carnegie Hall received five Grammy Awards and went Gold within a year. This is the perfect production for those who already adore Judy Garland and for those who want to learn more about the young girl we've all seen so many times in "The Wizard of Oz." Wed-Fri: 7:30, Sat: 2pm, Sun: 7pm- Tickets: $30-$40, www.artsgarage.org or call 561- 450-6357, Group rates email Caroline@artsgarage.org
